Mark Evan: hi, I have a 98 Town Car almost the exact same setup as yours my trouble is my window got stuck in the down position and now I can't get the motor out is there a way to manually Crank that window up so it's out of my way and then I can get to the motor any help you give me to be really appreciated.
1A Auto Parts: You may need to find something that you can use to pry it out of there.
1A Auto Parts: It may be a similar procedure. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Derek McWatt: Would this work for a 2003 crown vic?
1A Auto Parts: It sure does, it's what makes the window go up and down.
Jay raines: I tried both, but no luck... Does the cable attached to the motor have anything to do with the window?
1A Auto Parts: You could try to press the window switch in the up position and bang on the door with you hand to see if you can get the motor to push it up, or you may have to push the window up by hand.
Jay raines: Good video, but the problem I have is that the motor went out while my window is down and I cant get the motor out. How do I get the window up so I can remove the motor?
1A Auto Parts: If there's power to the window motor and it doesn't work it may be the window motor that is bad.
Tony Stewart: Thanks for the video, I followed the instructions. But unfortunately when I disconnected the old motor, the center gear piece came loose and the wires unraveled....I hope I can put this back
together. I hooked the power connectors and tested still doesn't work there's a black box with a motherboard inside that is clicking any advice. The other windows work fine.
1A Auto Parts: @dgrblr Once the door panel is in place you should be able to push the window into the up position with your hand from inside of the door. Then you can tape it up with painters tape. Hope this helps you out.
.a: Great video, except that the window is up. My window is down and won't come up so there's not enough room to remove the motor. How do I get the window up with the motor still in place but inoperable?
1A Auto Parts: @supressorgrid There's a small gear on the motor that could get damaged. If the weatherstrip around the window has become old and dried out, that could also slow down the window. You could try to spray the seals with some silicone spray, and also grease the regulator track with some white lithium grease. It that doesn't speed it up the window motor may just be worn out. We sell replacement window regulators and motors on our website 1aauto.com Hope this helps you out.
James walker: The window motors on my 95 town car are operating and windows go down but will not come up with out me lifting the window, is there a gear or something that gets stripped?
