shortman5555: Does the oval connector come with it or do you have to buy it separately?
Dameon Shelvy: I have a 99 Malibu and it just stopped running yesterday it starts then
immediately dies. When i try to start it there is a humming sound that i
hear near the rear wheels. What could be the problem? Also my gas gauge is
floating and inaccurate.
Kristina Bogle: i would suggest to use a brass chisel or punch when unlocking the fuel pump
ring. steel on steel could cause a spark. BOOM!
Carlee Moore: I have a 2000 Malibu and I can drive it for about an hour until it acts
like it runs out of gas and dies. It still has fuel pressure when it dies.
I've replaced the fuel pump but I'm still having the same problem. Do you
have any ideas of what could be wrong with it? I've taken it to 3 different
mechanics and the Chevy Dealership but no one can tell me what is going on.
Tim Coulter: I have a 1998 chevy malibu ls 3.1 liter the gas gage is all the way around
and on the bottom side of the thing that stops the needle from dropping all
the way down what is the problem?
Rafael Arguello: I would love to see a fuel pump replacement for a Chevy venture 2004
Caino Dunn: hey thanx for the help....i got a question, could a fuel relay switch fuse
#18 under fuse box be a reason that a car will not start, thx
NiTrain321: 1A your videos help a lot, thank you for posting them. I have a 2002
impala, will it be just as simple to replace using the access hatch behind
the back seat in the trunk. Thanks for responding
i13w13d: when my gas gauge is at about half my car wont start put gas in it starts

1A Auto Parts: @boneerooo You should be able to make this repair exactly as we show in the
1A Auto Parts: @tbok75 Thank you for visiting our auto repair channel on YouTube. You
should be fine. Have a great day!
1A Auto Parts: The grand am and the Malibu share the same pump for certain years so it
should be the same depending upon what year it is.
1A Auto Parts: You could test it with an ohm meter to see if it has the right voltage to
GodLovinConservative: @1aauto Is this very similar to a 2001 Chevy Lumina?
1A Auto Parts: It looks like it may be a vent for the gas tank.
trainspotting25858: i really appreciate your help ty next time i buy part from you !
1A Auto Parts: @Ducktastic777 If the car will not because of a bad fuel pump, the you
shouldn't have to depressurize the system.
Carritha Puller: Thanks this video saved me and my fiancé a couple hundred dollars.
1A Auto Parts: @ushook If it slowly turns over but doesn't catch, you may want to check
Ducktastic777: How do i depressurize if fuel pump wont start car?
1A Auto Parts: Usually a full tank of gas will keep the fuel pump cool, If it's starts to
act up, you may want to run it dry (if you can) and swap the pump out. We
carry new fuel pumps on our website, 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
1A Auto Parts: It may be some type of vent cap. The dealer may be able to get one for you.
1A Auto Parts: @sandylo73 You may want to check all of your grounds and connections, to
see if anything has come loose.
TheTJRod: Thanks! You guys saved me some time. You made me confident that I wasn't
leaving anything connected before I dropped it. Also getting those fittings
off was hard and you ensured me that I was taking them off the right way
without breaking them. Got my car running again and saved $500 over the
shop doing it.
Nate Miller: I struggled with those quick disconnects at first. Just to reiterate, after
you open the flap, you push the disconnect clips up so as if they are
coming off the line; they won't actually come off, but then you can pull
off the tubing.

frankie A: oh k
1A Auto Parts: @LilHash1216 It depends where they are leaking. You may be able to fix it
with a couple of pieces of gas line and some worm clamps.
john smith: Great vid. Was gonna do this for my little cousin but I live in wisconsin
so the mechanics can enjoy the pleasures of the rust belt. Sometimes couple
hundred bucks instead of the head ache is worth it.
1A Auto Parts: There aren't a very many cars with this luxury..lol Usually it requires
that you drop the gas tank to service it.
eternalnate: Thank you very much for the reply. It should help.
1A Auto Parts: If you do not hear the pump kick on with the key, it could be a fuel pump
that needs to be replaced.
1A Auto Parts: The basket shown in the video has the pump inside of it. The process would
be the same. You may want to try to change the fuel filter to see if it
helps to clear the issue up.
1A Auto Parts: You're welcome. Thanks for watching. Have a great day! 1aauto.com
judgementcanada: thanks so much
George Burgers: just want to note that I fixed the problem on my 2001 chevy cavalier, i did
a few things wrong. 1- i wasn't careful in removing the blue and green
clips that secure the gas lines. Those things are brittle and if they break
they can't be replaced unless you buy a new fuel pump- stupid design. 2)
make sure the lines leading from the pump are in their harness. if they
slip off, they might be pressed against the tank when you reinstall it.
This cuts off the gas flow and damaged the brittle lines.
1A Auto Parts: Some vehicles are like that but most require the tank to be dropped. There
are some people out there that have cut a hole in there trunk to access the
pump but that is very dangerous and we do not condone that.
1A Auto Parts: Thanks for watching. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
1A Auto Parts: @GodLovinConservative It may be. The basics should be the same, but there
could be a few different things that you need to do. Hope this help you
out. Have a great day!
Ducktastic777: Splicing the exsisting wires on the old sending unit to the new connector,
i noticed the wires looked a little dull and brown. Could that be it? Is it
meaningless to add another ground?
1A Auto Parts: It wouldn't hurt to replace it, but if it's working ok it should be fine.
Hope this helps you out.
96cavi: everytime a fuel pump is changed... the filter should be as well... for an
extra $10 its worth it... clogged filters are most to blame for some pump
1A Auto Parts: @jw621557 It may take you around an hour or so to remove the gas tank.
emhova1: great video just watched it and followed it step by step to replace my fuel
pump on a 2001 chevy malibu. but now im having a problem. whenever the car
stops at a stop light or stop sign the fuel gauge goes all the way down to
empty and the gas light comes on but then once you start driving again the
fuel gauge goes back up. whats this due to???
tommy13t: Great Video. Do you have one on replacing the pump not the whole basket?
Just replaced mine on a 2002 sunfire and now it kinda stutters at high way
Mi Cor: wow your tank is diferent as mine...
1A Auto Parts: It would be the price of the part then the hourly rate of the shop. It's
typically a good 2-3 hour job. We carry new fuel pumps for many vehicles
with free shipping, on our website 1aauto.com. 888-844-3393
