John Smith: There's adhesive two sided foam tape holding the tank up. So after everything has been removed you'll have to give it a little yank.
Ray Sykes: My new pump came with two seals, one was an O ring like the previous pump had, only much larger in diameter. The other was squared in cross section but also a much larger diameter matching the size of the first seal. When installed the O-ring will not stay between the pump housing and the tank but oozes out failing to seal for very long. I have now had to reinstall it three times and have given up. I have instead ordered a new O-ring on Ebay of a much smaller diameter (98mm ID instead of the 104-105mm ID of the O-ring provided), it will be here in a week and will hopefully do the job. meanwhile the tank is out and the car not usable. The pump itself works great and the video very well produced. Please review the seals that this pump comes with and get them replaced as needed, plus add a good video showing the seals on the new pump.
David Lorell: thanks Mike, great help
Moranda-Media: thank you this was a big help
Collin Sexton: Thank you a lot for the video, you saved me $600. I had my fuel pump go out unfortunately and had it towed to a shop that I never did business with, and they quoted me $700 for this job, and I was surprised how quick this took to fix.......20 minutes top with another person to help (would have been less if we didn't have to re-thread a bolt.)
absol: Would this be any different on a '98 Chevy Malibu?
supajb1: Thank you for making the complicated simple. That's a gift not many possess. Question, can you make a video for replacing the sending unit on a 2000 Buick La Sabre??? I am having the same issue and everyone wants to charge a leg to repair it.
PDH042065: I want to thank you for making this video. I changed the fuel pump in my daughters Alero today. I really did not want to do this job but your video answered all my questions. Thank you again.
reytho Thomsom: gracias desde Hermosillo, pude hacerlo yo solo paso a paso
Lorenzo Lolo: great video .. it was well-explained
Josh Donat: Not sure if I had commented earlier or not. This vid helped me replace my fuel pump about a year ago. Saved me a few hundred bucks at the least, as I didn't have to take it to a garage to do this. Simple to follow instructions, grateful for the post. This video, by itself, has made 1A Auto Parts my go-to tutorial source. If I get in a situation where I can wait for a part to ship, I'll be ordering through 1A Auto as well!
Thanks for the vid. Sorry it's taken so long to post a thank-you!
BacarD718: Do you guys have a video for a power steering pump? For a 99 Chevy Malibu
Dl515: Mike, thank you so much for the video. I followed it step by step and was able to successfully get the job done. Great job.
Harry Pappas: mike do you have any video on replacing fuel pressure regulator on 2001 chevy malibu v6 thx
Raven Steward: But question, how do I knew which fuel pump to order. I have a 2001 chevy malibu ,V6 and the engine is a 3100.
Raven Steward: I love this video. Now I can understand the amount that I'm being charged. Replacing the fuel pump takes a lot of work. I have to purchase a new fuel pump as well. Thanks guys so much.
Howie Loso: I have 1997 Bonneville with full gas tank . Needs new pump. Do I have to drain out gas. If i have mechanic do...what is a fair cost for job. Thank You Sir.
shortman5555: Does the oval connector come with it or do you have to buy it separately?
Kristina Bogle: i would suggest to use a brass chisel or punch when unlocking the fuel pump ring. steel on steel could cause a spark. BOOM!
gell216: What length extention do I need for the ratchet?
