I intend to wire my solar panels for 24v for efficiency, but since my
devices use 12v, i need this thing to bring the v. down, where do i tie it
in, and how? I intend to use this one on amazon:

Darcy Klyne: Hi Barry. First part of my solution to help prevent generation of hydrogen
sulfide was to increase the total amp hours of storage, to avoid the
battery voltage extremes, from 4 batteries to 12 since this video was made.
Have found my banks could now accept the full potential of my panels while
boiling the electrolyte as little as possible. Will be enclosing that
space, setting up voltage/temp regulated exhaust fan too. Was considering
battery shed outside, but Manitoba winters are a concern.

Begbucks: $2 plus a watt is not cheap. Have you considered the Chinese made panels
for as little as sixty cents a watt FOB?

Barry West: You may have to move your Batteries away from your electrical set up
because of the off gassing from the batteries will settle on and get inside
all of the electrical components and eat it all up.
Darcy Klyne: Oh yes. Should have mentioned that i also moved the batteries away as far
away so they are not sitting directly underneath the inverter panel any
more. I just watched the video and noticed that hey are right below in that
shot. Not sure what to think on the -35 - -40 C temps for shed outside in
winter? Really shouldn't matter as long as they stay charged. Would they
lose potential amp hours when that cold do you think?
Darcy Klyne: batteries? Yes, my inverter is 24volt. So technically i only had 480ah
@12volts in that video, not @24volts. However i have since doubled my banks
so i now do actually have 480ah a@24v. :P
Darcy Klyne: No, not really. Initially i was, now I'm venting the room that they are in
and on particularly sunny days I find it is always a good idea to increase
your inverter draw so you can defer some of your charging to load balancing.
