Chris Luck: I bought one a few months ago and can say it is OK. It does not transcode movie files; I have some which won't play over DLNA. But it connects and streams flawlessly to all my devices.
Connection from out of the house is a bit limited as my cable is only a 1MB upload, people on NBN with 20MB uplink would be better off.
I now have my phones setup to sync to DropBox, Laptop syncs dropbox and also does daily auto backup to the WD MY Cloud ( I wrote a simple script to do this). So phone pics etc are automatically on the WD within a day.
4 out of 5 for me. Needs bittorrent client and transcoding support for full marks.
Chris Luck: Thinking of this or the Seagate Central. Seagate seems to have a better UI but WD has much faster LAN write speeds. But I'm yet to find anyone is Aus selling the WD. For me it must work flawlessly on Android and Samsung Smart TVs.
